ABOUT US

History

Twenty five years ago, a retired airline pilot had the idea to start air taxi service to and from Vermont's Burlington International Airport. With that dream and three partners, Valley Air Services was born, receiving its Air Taxi Certificate in 1984. We had two aircraft back then; a single engine Cessna 182 and a Beechcraft Baron that carried both passengers and freight.

Over the next few years, Valley Air Services built a hangar and FBO, operated a flight school, delivered US Mail, performed maintenance for the airliners, and in 1989 offered scheduled air commuter service to Rutland and Albany, NY utilizing a mid size Sabreliner 65 aircraft.

In 1995, we changed our name to Valet Air Service as we entered the air charter market with our first King Air Turboprop. In 1997, we expanded into jet charter by managing a Citation II.

Valet Air Service continued to grow and branch out, acquiring Daystar Avionics in 1999. Another name change was needed to reflect all our diverse operations. In the year 2000, we became Heritage Flight, flying under the call sign Snowshoe. Over the next few years, we added mid-size and heavy jets to our fleet and hired very qualified pilots to fly them.

In 2006, Heritage Flight completed a stunning new 40,000 sq ft hangar and office space on the very same site our original lobby stood in 1984. Today, Heritage Flight owns and manages eight aircraft, including four King Air Turboprops, a Challenger 604, two Citation Excels and a Citation Encore. We employ 20 pilots, and have achieved the highest safety ratings in the air charter industry: ARGUS Platinum, Wyvern, and IS-BAO. We are certified by the TSA to conduct operations at the DCA airport; one of the few operators that meet the stringent requirements the DCA Access Standard Security Program demands.

And we continue to grow. This year, we've created a second company: Heritage Aviation, a full service FBO that's the perfect complement to our award-winning maintenance, avionics and charter divisions. Our new luxurious, 79,000 sq. ft facility offers every amenity imaginable, including a rooftop observation deck, movie theatre, quiet rooms, hangar space and US Customs on site. The Heritage Aviation facility is one of the first LEED-certified hangars in the nation, with added features that utilize solar and wind energy, rainwater collection and reuse, and features one of the largest green roofs in New England.

Heritage Flight and Heritage Aviation will take care of you at every turn!
